The Corruption Eradication Commission arrested six people in a sting operation (OTT) in North Sumatra (Sumut).
"The KPK has secured six people and tonight they were immediately taken to the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta for further investigation," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when confirmed.
Budi further said that the OTT was carried out by the Corruption Eradication Committee in the Mandailing Natal Regency area, North Sumatra.
"It is true that on Thursday (26/6) evening, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) conducted a sting operation in the Mandailing Natal area, North Sumatra," he said.
Thus, the statement corrects previous information which said that the OTT was carried out in Medan City, North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, he said the OTT was related to alleged corruption in a road construction project at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR), and road preservation at the North Sumatra Region I National Road Implementation Work Unit.
"The Corruption Eradication Committee will certainly update ( inform, ed.) who the parties suspected of being involved are and how the case will be constructed, we will convey this at the next opportunity," he said.
The Corruption Eradication Committee has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the parties who have been arrested.
The OTT is the second in 2025.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) conducted a sting operation and caught members of the DPRD and officials of the PUPR Service of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, namely in March 2025.
