The Regional Public Drinking Water Company Jaya confirmed that it has quickly resolved the water pipe leak that occurred on Jalan Jatiwaringin, Bekasi City, precisely in the Buaran Hilir Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project area.
"This incident is an important reminder to continue to improve the quality of implementation of each stage of work," said PAM Jaya Technical Director Akhmad Santika in Jakarta, Tuesday.
According to him, the leak occurred when a hydrostatic test of the pipe was being carried out, but one of the pipe valves leaked so that water gushed into the air and flowed onto the street.
The water gushed out so fast that it caused the roads to be flooded for a while and traffic around the location was temporarily congested.
