Police deploy thousands of personnel to secure Bhayangkara Day ceremony

The National Police deployed 5,800 joint personnel to secure the 79th Bhayangkara Day ceremony at the National Monument area.

"Quite a lot. Almost around 5,800 personnel. Some are on the route, some are on the toll road, some are in the main location. There are so many points that must be secured," said the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Inspector General of Police Agus said that security will be strengthened with the presence of a joint post considering that the ceremony will be attended directly by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The joint post, he said, will be tasked with controlling the flow of information and communication in the field, especially regarding traffic movements and parking points for invited guests.

"With the President present, security must of course be maximized," said the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps.

Inspector General of Police Agus said that the Police will also organize the security zone into several sectors, namely the green zone in the core area of Monas, the yellow zone for connecting roads, the red zone at toll access and city entrances, and special zones at strategic points such as Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) and SCBD.

Polda Metro Jaya also appealed to the public to avoid the Monas area and its surroundings on the day of the event.
