Prevent crime, Sidrap Regent imposes curfew for students

The Sidenreng Rappang Regency Government, South Sulawesi Province has officially imposed a curfew for students to prevent criminal acts or crimes committed between teenagers.

"Satpol PP will conduct the raids, and if anyone violates the rules, the sanction is that they will be sent to an Islamic boarding school," Sidrap Regent Syaharuddin Alrif confirmed when confirmed in Makassar, Sunday.

He stated that this policy was taken to reduce the risk of crime involving students and criminal acts that can occur when they are still roaming around at night.

"So that children are disciplined and focused on studying at home with their families. This is aimed at reducing the risk of criminal acts for them, because their future is still long," he emphasized.

It was mentioned that the policy was almost the same as the policy issued by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi. For students caught committing crimes, they were put in military barracks, but in Sidrap the treatment was different, students were put in Islamic boarding schools.

However, the goal is the same, to build character and personality for teenagers so that they can avoid free association, alcohol, drug abuse and other addictive substances, and brawls between students.

In addition, the man familiarly called Sahar emphasized the importance of religious activities for students. Every Thursday night, all students are required to attend the nearest mosque to perform worship together.
