Promoted club PSIM Yogyakarta has officially extended the contracts of two of its midfielders, Savio Sheva and Rio Hardiawan, to compete in the 2025/26 Indonesian League 1 competition.
Quoted from the club's official website, Tuesday, the two players received contract extensions because in the 2024/25 Indonesian League 2 competition they became an important part of PSIM Yogyakarta.
Having the opportunity to continue their collaboration with PSIM Yogyakarta, the two players expressed their happiness.
"Of course I am happy to be able to defend PSIM again and this is my fifth year wearing the uniform of the team that is the pride of the people of Yogyakarta," said Savio.
"Alhamdulillah, I am happy because I am still trusted to remain in the PSIM team," explained Rio.
In the 2024/25 Indonesian League 2 competition, both Savio and Rio were able to show promising performances, thus bringing Laskar Mataram to promotion to League 1.
Savio played in 20 matches and scored 4 important goals. One of his crucial goals came when PSIM defeated Persiraja Banda Aceh 2-0 in the last 8 of League 2. Three other goals were scored in the group stage, each against Persikas Subang, Persekat Tegal, and Persiku Kudus.
Meanwhile, Rio's impressive performance is evident from his playing record. The Pangkal Pinang-born midfielder appeared in 22 matches, from the group stage to the final, with a total of 1,807 minutes of play.
