Retiring from the national team, Yolla Yuliana wants to make room for regeneration

Senior women's volleyball player Yolla Yuliana stated that her resignation from the Indonesian women's national volleyball team was a form of support for the regeneration process of young Indonesian players.

"My decision to step down from the national team is to give opportunities to young players. When I played in the AVC Challenge Cup (last week), I saw that the Philippines had fielded many young players. I hope our players can also compete," Yolla said in a written statement on Wednesday.

Yolla submitted her resignation letter to the Central Board of the All Indonesia Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI) on Tuesday, ending her 17 years of service with the national team at both junior and senior levels.

The athlete from Bandung made her national team debut in 2008 at the Youth Girls Asia Championships in Manila, Philippines, when Indonesia was ranked sixth with the team coached by coach Li Qiujiang.

During her time with the national team, Yolla won a number of achievements, including a silver medal at the 2017 SEA Games and bronze medals at the 2013, 2015, and 2022 SEA Games.
