Türkiye grants permission for Syrian Airlines to resume flights to Istanbul

According to a report by the AirportHaber website, Turkey's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has approved the resumption of flights starting June 10, 2025, with one flight per day, seven days a week.

An official ceremony is scheduled to be held at Istanbul International Airport to mark the resumption of air links between the two countries.

AJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, suspended its flights to Damascus due to the refusal of Syrian airlines to grant them permission to fly and land in Türkiye.

The new step marks the beginning of a new phase of openness between Ankara and Damascus, and opens the door to further developments in bilateral relations.
