The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error message from Microsoft Windows that has persisted for almost 40 years is set to change early this year to the Black Screen of Death.
As written by The Verge, Microsoft revealed earlier this year that they were overhauling the BSOD error message in Windows 11. The new design removes the traditional blue color, frowning face, and QR code for a simplified black screen.
"This is really an effort to provide more clarity and better information and allow us and our customers to really understand the root of the problem so we can fix it more quickly," said Microsoft's Vice President of Enterprise and OS Security David Weston.
