After a few days ago Grok introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) friend named Ani, a gothic- style anime girl , now Elon Musk, the owner of xAI, is showing off a male AI friend inspired by the fictional character Edward Cullen from the film "Twilight".
This was tweeted directly by Elon Musk via his X account @elonmusk who asked his followers a suitable name for this new character.
"What should we name our male friend @Grok?" he asked, along with a picture of an anime man with black hair and a black suit.
Apart from revealing the inspiration from Edward Cullen, Elon Musk also said that the figure was also inspired by another fictional character that is preferred by adult women, namely Christian Grey from the novel "50 Shades of Grey".
In a report by The Verge on Thursday, Ani's virtual companion is described as a young and cute woman. Meanwhile, the unnamed male AI companion is portrayed as assertive and masculine.
It remains unclear whether Elon Musk is aware that Christian Grey himself was essentially created from the character Edward Cullen, considering that "50 Shades of Grey" was originally a work of fanfiction from "Twilight."
Grok's newest male AI companion is still in development and XAI will probably add more features.
