Senior player Ashley Young has officially joined Ipswich Town and agreed to a short one-year contract, the Premier League second-tier club announced.
"Ashley has had a fantastic career and his achievements speak for themselves," Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna told the club's official website on Thursday.
McKenna believes Young has maintained his professionalism and competitiveness despite turning 40 this month.
"We feel his leadership and experience will be invaluable to the team this season, and he is eager to contribute on and off the field," he said.
Young has made 750 appearances and scored 88 goals throughout his career, which has been spent largely in the Premier League with Manchester United, Aston Villa and Everton.
The player who plays as a full-back or wing midfielder has also won the Italian League title with Inter Milan.
