Dozens of martyrs in new massacres in Gaza, as Israel wages a "systematic war of thirst" in the Strip.

The ministry said in a statement: "120 martyrs (including 3 recovered martyrs) and 557 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals over the past 24 hours," adding: "The death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 58,386 martyrs and 139,077 injuries since October 7, 2023."

The ministry noted that "240 martyrs have been added to the cumulative statistics of martyrs, whose data has been completed," and explained that since Israel resumed the genocide on March 18, the death toll has reached "7,568 martyrs and 27,036 injuries."

The ministry continued: "In the past 24 hours, five martyrs and more than 143 injuries arrived at hospitals as a result of waiting for aid," bringing the total number of "livelihood martyrs" who arrived at hospitals to 838 and more than 5,575 injuries.

In the same context, 53 Palestinians, including three starving people, were killed and others injured as a result of separate Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the early hours of Monday morning.

According to sources, the Israeli occupation army's attacks included displaced persons' tents, a civilian gathering, a water distribution vehicle, and a number of starving people waiting to receive alleged "aid" overseen by the United States and Israel.

112 massacres

In a related context, the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip stated on Monday that Israel is waging a systematic war of deprivation, during which it has committed 112 massacres against water-filling queues, resulting in the deaths of more than 700 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children, since October 7, 2023.

The government office added in a statement: "In one of the most heinous crimes committed against humanity, the occupation continues to wage a systematic and deliberate war of deprivation against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian conventions. Water is being used as a weapon of collective warfare to exterminate the population and strip them of their most basic rights."

He explained that the occupation army committed approximately "112 massacres against water filling lines, resulting in the deaths of more than 700 martyrs, the majority of whom were children." The most recent massacre occurred in the Nuseirat refugee camp (central Gaza Strip) on Sunday, when 12 people, including eight children, were martyred while waiting at a water filling station.

The office stated that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has targeted approximately 112 sources of fresh water, destroying 720 water wells and putting them out of service. It noted that the targeting of water wells has deprived "more than a million and a quarter million people of access to clean water."

Fuel ban

According to the statement, the Israeli occupation army has prevented the entry of 12 million liters of fuel into the Gaza Strip per month, the minimum amount allocated to operate water wells, sewage treatment plants, waste collection vehicles, and other vital sectors. The statement added, "This ban has caused a near-total paralysis of the water and sewage networks and exacerbated the spread of epidemics, especially among children."

In addition, the government office confirmed that Israel had cut off the water supply from the Israeli company Mekorot since January 23, 2025, noting that it constituted the last "primary source of water supply to the Gaza Strip."

In escalating its war of deprivation, the office said that on March 9, 2025, the Israeli occupation army also cut off "the last power line that was feeding the last central water desalination plant south of the city of Deir al-Balah (central Gaza Strip), halting the production of large quantities of drinking water and further exacerbating the stifling water crisis."

He considered this war of deprivation "a full-fledged war crime under the Geneva Conventions and a serious violation of international humanitarian law and human rights." He called on the international community to take urgent action to "stop the war of deprivation, ensure unhindered access to water for civilians, and pressure Israel to allow the entry of fuel and equipment to operate water wells and sewage treatment plants."

He also called for "an urgent international investigation into the crime of deprivation of water, as it is part of the ongoing genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip."

Since last March, municipalities in the Gaza Strip have warned of a catastrophic water crisis due to the depletion of fuel needed to operate the few functioning wells and the deliberate destruction of water infrastructure.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

In addition to the martyrs and wounded, most of whom were children and women, the genocide left more than 11,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.

For 18 years, Israel has been besieging Gaza, leaving approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out of a population of approximately 2.4 million in the Strip homeless after their homes were destroyed in the war of extermination.
