Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola asked his players to rest their minds after being eliminated from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup following a dramatic 3-4 defeat to Al Hilal, Monday (1/7) evening local time, at Camping World Stadium, Orlando.
"We would love to continue this tournament. We only play this tournament once every four years. We feel the team played well, but now it's time to go home and rest our minds for the new season," Guardiola told the media, as quoted from the Club World Cup's official website.
City failed to progress to the quarter-finals of the tournament after losing in extra time. Marcos Leonardo scored the winning goal for Al Hilal in the 112th minute.
