Como has completed the process of recruiting Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis.
"Como 1907 is delighted to announce the signing of Spanish winger Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis. The 19-year-old joins the club on a permanent deal until June 2030, after an agreement was reached between the two parties," the club said in a statement on Como's official website on Thursday.
The move to Como was also warmly welcomed by the player.
“I am really happy to be here and to be part of such an ambitious project. I come with great enthusiasm, full of passion to improve and give everything for the team to achieve important goals. I feel very motivated and determined,” said Rodriguez.
Rodriguez broke into Betis' first team in the 2024/2025 season, making 31 appearances and scoring three goals under Manuel Pellegrini.
He also made eight appearances on his side's run to the UEFA Conference League final, including as a second-half substitute in their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the final in Wroclaw.
Rodriguez, a left winger, has made three appearances for Spain U21 since making his debut in March this year. He was also named in Spain's squad for the European Under-21 Championship last month, and played in Spain's 3-1 quarter-final defeat to England on June 21.
In January 2025, Como also signed striker Assane Diao from Betis. Like Rodriguez, Diao, a Senegal international, is a product of the Seville club's academy.
