English Premier League club Liverpool has officially announced the arrival of striker Hugo Ekitike from German Premier League club Eintracht Frankfurt as a new recruit in this summer's transfer window.
Quoted from the club's official website, Thursday, Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a transfer agreement for Ekitike, including completing several international clearance conditions.
The 23-year-old has successfully completed a medical and agreed personal terms with the Reds, allowing him to fly to Hong Kong to join Arne Slot's squad on their pre-season tour of Asia this weekend.
According to several British media reports a few days ago, Liverpool agreed to pay a transfer fee of (Rp 1.8 trillion) to Eintracht Frankfurt to get them to release Ekitike and tie the former French U-21 national team player to a six-year contract.

Liverpool emerged victorious in the race to secure the French international's services after fellow Premier League club Newcastle had previously expressed interest in Ekitike.
Newcastle United had previously made a €75 million bid for Ekitike, but this was rejected. Newcastle then shifted their focus and began considering Brentford's Yoane Wissa as an alternative.
Ekitike joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain on loan in January 2024, before making the move permanent in the summer for €17.5 million.
He scored four goals and two assists in 14 games during his loan spell, then notched 22 goals and 12 assists last season, earning himself a spot in the Bundesliga's Team of the Year.
Ekitike becomes the latest addition to Liverpool's squad this summer, joining Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Florian Wirtz. His shirt number will be confirmed later this summer.
