IBL emphasizes the importance of player regeneration

The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL), the operator of the national basketball league, emphasized the importance of player regeneration to maintain the quality and competitiveness of the competition.

"I think what Bali United is doing with the mini camp for children aged 10 to 14 is very good and active," said IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah on the sidelines of attending a training session for young basketball players at the Purna Krida Sports Hall in Badung Regency, Bali, on Tuesday.

Besides having the potential to produce new players on the professional scene, he continued, this development is also a strategy to expand the market share of basketball fans through the role of clubs.

Bali United Basketball provided training or a mini camp on July 14-16, 2025, to 12 young people, consisting of physical training and match practice.

A number of Tridatu Warrior squad players also came down from the mountain to share their knowledge with the budding basketball players, along with the coaching team led by head coach I Gusti Ngurah Rusta Wijaya.

The professional players from the Bali team include Oka Ananta Yogiswara, Irvine Kurniawan, Gede Elgi Wimbardi and the winner of the 2025 IBL most improved player title , Putu J Satria Pande.

The IBL noted that Bali Province is one of the regions in Indonesia that has had great potential in the national basketball league scene since the 1980s and 1990s.

There are also basketball legends from the Island of the Gods, including Riko Hartono, Cokorda Raka Satrya Wibawa, Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha and Cokorda Anom Indrajaya.

Then there are I Made Lolik Sudiadnyana and I Gusti Ngurah Rusta Wijaya who are currently the coaches of Bali United Basketball.

"Bali has never lost its potential to produce basketball athletes," he said.

Meanwhile, Tridatu Warrior player Putu J Satria Pande admitted to sharing his basketball skills with the training participants.

The 24-year-old basketball player from Wangaya Kelod, Denpasar, hopes that the younger generation will become professional basketball players in the next five to 10 years.
