The Indonesian representatives' struggle in the BWF World Tour Super 750 Japan Open 2025 badminton tournament has officially ended after the women's doubles pair Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti failed to advance to the semifinals.
Lanny/Fadia lost to top seeds from China, Liu Shengshu/Tan Ning, in a three-game match with a score of 21-10, 17-21, 16-21 in the quarterfinals at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Friday.
This defeat also ensures that Indonesia will return home without a title from the Super 750 tournament. Furthermore, Indonesia's trophyless streak in Super 500 tournaments and above will continue throughout the 2025 season.
Lanny/Fadia had a convincing performance in the first game, dominating the match and winning decisively 21-10. However, consistency became a major issue when they failed to maintain their performance in the next two games.
