Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike, according to a number of British media outlets.

However, there are still some matters that need to be formally resolved, which are expected to be completed in the next day or two.

If all the additional clauses in this deal are fulfilled, Frankfurt is optimistic that this transfer will be the most expensive sale in the club's history. Although no exact figure has been disclosed, Ekitike's transfer is believed to surpass the record €95 million (Rp 1.8 trillion) fee set by Randal Kolo Muani when he was sold to PSG in 2023.

Newcastle United had previously made a €75 million bid for Ekitike, but this was rejected. Newcastle then shifted their focus and began considering Brentford's Yoane Wissa as an alternative.

Liverpool have also contacted Newcastle regarding a potential transfer for Alexander Isak. The Reds are understood to be willing to agree to a transfer in the region of £120 million.
