Microsoft has issued an official warning regarding an active cyberattack targeting SharePoint server software, which is widely used by government agencies and companies to share documents internally.
The tech company urged users to immediately install security updates to prevent further exploitation.
Quoting The Straits Times, Monday, in its statement, Microsoft said that the attack only impacted SharePoint servers used within the organization, not the cloud- based SharePoint Online service in Microsoft 365. This means that cloud service users were not affected by the attack.
