Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources proposes subsidized fuel quota of 19.28 million KL in 2026 RAPBN

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia proposed that the quota for subsidized fuel oil , namely kerosene and diesel, be in the range of 19.05 million - 19.28 million kiloliters (KL) for the 2026 RAPBN.

"The proposed volume of subsidized fuel in the 2026 RAPBN is 19.05 million -19.28 million KL," said Bahlil in a Working Meeting with Commission XII of the DPR in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The details of the proposal are 0.52 million – 0.54 million KL for kerosene and 18.53 million – 18.74 million KL for diesel fuel.

The subsidized fuel quota proposed by Bahlil is lower when compared to the 2025 APBN quota, which is 19.41 million KL, with details of kerosene amounting to 0.53 million KL, and diesel fuel amounting to 18.88 million KL.

Thus, Bahlil cut the subsidized fuel quota for the 2026 RAPBN.

"For diesel imports, if we convert to B50, God willing, we will not import anymore, with the note that our production must not decrease," said Bahlil.

However, if people continue to use B40, Bahlil said that Indonesia must still import diesel because there is still a gap between domestic oil consumption and production.

"So, maybe there will still be a little import," said Bahlil.

The realization of subsidized fuel distribution from January to May was recorded at 7.41 million KL, with details of 0.21 million KL for kerosene and 7.20 million KL for diesel.

In addition to the subsidized fuel quota, Bahlil also proposed an increase in the 3 kg LPG quota from 8.17 million metric tons (MT) in the 2025 State Budget to 8.31 million MT for the 2026 Draft State Budget. The distribution of 3 kg LPG in January–May 2025 was recorded at 3.49 million MT.
