Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable phone, which offers a thinner body design than its predecessors.
"We've brought updates to the thickness and weight. This (Galaxy Z Fold7) is now much thinner and much lighter," said Ilham Indrawan, MX Product Marketing Senior Manager for Samsung Electronics Indonesia, at the "Samsung The New Galaxy: First Hands-On Session" event in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is just 8.9 millimeters thick when folded and 4.2 millimeters when unfolded. The phone's thickness is nearly identical to the Samsung S25 Ultra, which measures 8.2 millimeters.
The foldable phone weighs just 215 grams, lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold6, which weighs 239 grams. The Galaxy Z Fold7's screen is also wider than its predecessor, at 64.9 millimeters, providing a wider visual experience.
For durability, the Galaxy Z Fold7 features an Armor FlexHinge with a waterdrop design to ensure the device's durability. The main display has been redesigned to be thinner and lighter, yet still tough, using a new titanium plate layer.
For the display, Samsung uses Ultra Thin Glass, which is 50 percent harder and more resistant to bending. The screen is protected by a Ceramic 2 coating.
Meanwhile, for the frame, the Galaxy Z Fold7 uses Advanced Armor Aluminum .
