Samsung Electronics Co. announced that it had secured orders for artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors worth 22.8 trillion won (around Rp268 trillion) from an unnamed major customer, later believed to be US technology company Tesla.
Quoted from Yonhap, Monday (28/7), in a regulatory filing, the South Korean technology giant stated that it had signed a foundry contract which is targeted for completion on December 31, 2033.
The contract value is equivalent to 7.6 percent of Samsung Electronics' total revenue last year, which reached 300.9 trillion won (around Rp. 3.5 quadrillion), and is also the largest chip order the company has ever received.
Samsung did not disclose the client's identity or contract details, citing "management confidentiality."
