Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, said that the Cartenz Peace Task Force team, arrested KKB member Roberth Wenda alias Kriminal Hesegem (26 years old), who was the perpetrator of the shooting of Bripka Marsidon Debataraja in Wamena.
Bripka Marsidon Debataraja, a member of the Jayawijaya Police Traffic Unit, was shot by KKB in front of Wamena Regional Hospital after taking a traffic accident victim on May 28.
"KKB Roberth Wenda alias Kriti Hesegem was arrested in Senarekoa Maplima Village, Wouma District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains," said Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani to Antara, Thursday in Jayapura.
Faizal said that KKB Robert Wenda was also on the wanted list at the Class IIA Doyo Narcotics Prison in Jayapura Regency after escaping in August 2024.
When arrested, six rounds of 7.62 millimeter caliber ammunition were confiscated from Robert Wenda's traditional bag (noken).
"Currently, investigators are still examining the person concerned," he said.
Bripka Marsidon Debataraja himself was evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Jakarta, due to the gunshot wounds he suffered.
