Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable phone, which is thinner than previous generations of devices and is supported by advanced hardware and a 200MP ultra camera.
According to the company's press release on Thursday, the foldable phone is just 8.9 millimeters thick when folded and 4.2 millimeters when unfolded.
The Galaxy Z Fold7's cover has a 21:9 aspect ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
The main display measures 8 inches when the device is unfolded. This Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel boasts a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, 11 percent higher than anything Samsung has ever released.
The device's main screen is designed to be thinner and lighter, but more robust with the presence of a new Titanium plate.
Despite its large screen, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is lighter than its predecessor and the S25 Ultra, another flagship device from Samsung. The foldable phone weighs just 215 grams.
This foldable phone uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset which offers better performance on the CPU and GPU.
This engine supports all the device's intelligent performance, including the latest Galaxy AI which is increasingly sophisticated with the new One UI 8 operating system based on Android 16.
This operating system is claimed to be more responsive and contextual, able to present interactions with AI that feel more immersive with the Galaxy Z Fold7 display.
"The Galaxy Z Fold7 combines Galaxy AI with advanced hardware to deliver our best smartphone experience yet," said TM Roh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Electronics' Mobile Device eXperience (DX) Division, in a company press release.
