The government, through the Ministry of Communication and Digital , has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national action to address the rise in digital crimes in the form of fraud or scams .
"Fighting scams is now a national priority and an integral part of the strategy to build a safe, clean, and trustworthy digital space," said Komdigi Director General of Digital Space Supervision Alexander Sabar at the launch of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) Indonesia Chapter in Jakarta on Thursday.
He stated that public losses due to the scam had reached more than IDR 700 billion between November 2024 and February 2025 alone.
