The occupation army kills a Palestinian in Jenin and detains his body amid a widespread arrest campaign that has spread across the West Bank

The ministry said in a statement, "The Civil Affairs Authority (the liaison with the Israeli side) was informed of the martyrdom of citizen Ahmed Al-Amour, 55 years old (by Israeli bullets) in the town of Rummana, and the detention of his body."

In turn, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, said that "the (Israeli) occupation forces executed the citizen Al-Amour after shooting him with live bullets, then ran him over with an Israeli military vehicle in the town of Rummana." It noted that "the occupation forces detained the martyr's body and arrested his sons (the number was not specified)."

She noted that a large Israeli military force stormed the town of Rummana at dawn, raiding a large number of homes and destroying their contents. Sniper squads were also deployed in the town amid a heightened state of alert, and a large-scale arrest campaign was launched in the town.

For its part, the Israeli army said in a statement via the X platform: "During a military operation by an army force in the village of Rummana, a Palestinian stabbed an army soldier, moderately wounding him," it claimed. The army added that the Palestinian "was killed by the force, while the soldier was transferred to the hospital for treatment."

Since dawn today, Israeli occupation forces have launched a wide-scale campaign of arrests and raids in several areas of the West Bank, targeting dozens of Palestinians, including freed prisoners and a young girl, amidst vandalism of homes and heavy gunfire and tear gas, according to WAFA.

In Qalandia camp, north of Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 20 young men after storming the camp with a large military force. The forces raided a large number of homes, destroyed their contents, and fired live ammunition, sound bombs, and tear gas. Israeli soldiers also climbed onto the roofs of several residential buildings.

This raid comes amid ongoing escalation in the Jerusalem Governorate, particularly in the Qalandia camp, which has witnessed repeated raids and arrests.

In Bethlehem Governorate, occupation forces arrested two Palestinians after raiding their homes in the Handaza area east of the city. They also raided homes in the Beit Falouh area, but no arrests were recorded.

In the city of Qalqilya, occupation forces arrested five young men after raiding and searching their homes. The raids took place from the eastern entrance to the city, and were concentrated in the neighborhoods of Sufin, Kafr Saba, and al-Naqar, and lasted for approximately three hours.

In the city of Tubas, occupation forces arrested three former prisoners after raiding their homes at dawn. They also arrested a young man from the village of Beit Lilo, northwest of Ramallah, after storming his home and ransacking its contents.

This campaign comes as part of the occupation's ongoing policy of escalating violence against the Palestinian people across the West Bank, through daily arrests and nighttime raids that exacerbate the suffering of citizens and heighten tensions in the occupied territories.

In the context of the violations, settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Thursday, under the protection of the occupation police, according to the WAFA news agency.

The agency said that dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups, conducted provocative tours of its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals under the protection of occupation forces.

In parallel with the genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 994 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 18,000 others, according to Palestinian data.

This comes as Israel, with full US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 195,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.
