Twitch reportedly begins testing vertical video streaming

Livestreaming service Twitch, owned by Amazon, announced at its annual TwitchCon event earlier this year that it would be entering the vertical video space.

Now, the initial alpha test has launched with several streamers , according to findings from market intelligence provider AppSensa, quoted from TechCrunch.

In the latest update, the company found references to vertical video trials and information about the features that will be offered in this new stream.

Once fully launched, this feature will make Twitch more competitive with popular vertical video services like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Twitch's trial isn't widespread at this point, as AppSensa's research found only a few references in the app's code to the idea that the trial would focus on "a handful of streamers" for the time being.
