West Ham sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton

West Ham United has officially signed England international defender Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton on a three-year contract.

The 28-year-old will wear the number 2 shirt and strengthen the back line of manager Graham Potter's squad for the 2025/2026 season.

"I'm really excited. It's been a long wait. I've been linked with a move to this club a few times, and I'm really happy to be here now," Walker-Peters said, as quoted on West Ham's official website on Sunday.

Walker-Peters is a versatile player who can play on either flank of the defense.

He has made almost 150 Premier League appearances and over 200 appearances for Southampton since joining permanently in 2020.

West Ham manager Potter welcomed the arrival of Walker-Peters, who he believes has the experience and quality to add depth to the squad.

"He's got a great track record, is a true professional, and has been a respected Premier League player, and he still has the best years of his career ahead of him," Potter said.

Born in North London, Walker-Peters is a product of Tottenham Hotspur's academy and featured in the UEFA Champions League in the 2018/2019 season.

He also helped England win the U-20 World Cup in 2017 and made his senior national team debut in March 2022 against Switzerland at Wembley.

Last season, he played a key role in Southampton's promotion back to the top flight via the EFL Championship play-offs.
