Chilpancingo, Gro, October 8.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador yesterday expressed his opposition to municipal authorities in the state making peace agreements with criminal groups in the Tierra Caliente region.
This is because last Thursday, one day after the attack, José Alfredo Hurtado Oloscoaga, El Fresa, alleged leader of the Familia Michoacana, released a video in which he claimed to have been the target of the attack and to have fallen into an ambush by Los Tequileros .
Questioned at his morning press conference about the recording that circulated after the massacre in Totolapan, in which an alleged criminal leader operating in the area accused a rival group of being responsible for the violence plaguing the region and said he was seeking to make peace with Mayor Conrado Mendoza Almeda , who was killed in the mass murder, the President asserted that this case "is a very serious matter in which 20 people lost their lives. This is not a matter for agreements, but rather for investigation and for the enforcement of the law."
Conrado Mendoza Almeda, mayor of the municipality of San Miguel Totolapan, located in the Tierra Caliente region of Guerrero; his father, former mayor Juan Mendoza Acosta; and his brother-in-law, Ulises Guillermo García, shot dead on Wednesday by hundreds of armed men dressed as soldiers and state police officers who stormed the town; were buried yesterday morning in the municipal cemetery.
