In a post on the X platform, Duran said that his country strongly rejects the decision to completely occupy the Gaza Strip, which was approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet early this morning, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a "gradual" plan to completely occupy Gaza.
He explained that Israel's plans and attacks "target all of humanity and undermine peace and stability," stressing that the entrenchment of the occupation "violates international legal norms and humanitarian values."
He added: "With the continued heavy bombardment of civilians, the destruction of infrastructure, and the obstruction of access to basic humanitarian needs, what Israel is doing in Gaza is clear genocide. There is no justification for occupation, injustice, or attacks on innocent lives, and the conscience of humanity cannot be silenced."
Duran stressed the need for the international community to oppose these unilateral steps and make effective efforts to find a just solution. He called on the world to raise its voice for "humanity and justice," and recalled President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's refusal to remain silent regarding the events in Gaza.
On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a "gradual" plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip during a cabinet meeting, despite opposition from the military establishment due to the threat it poses to the lives of prisoners and soldiers. The cabinet approved Netanyahu's plan early Friday morning.
The plan calls for the Israeli occupation army to begin moving into areas it has not previously entered, with the aim of seizing control of the central Gaza Strip and Gaza City, despite warnings from Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir against such a move.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
