Tijuana, August 28.- Daniela Delila Mercado Juárez, a law student at the Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana, was named president of the Environment and Sustainable Development Commission of the 5th Tijuana Youth Council.
During her inauguration speech, the young woman stated: "We, the youth, not only inherit history, but we write it. We are the generation whose seeds know that true change will come about through unity, listening to each other's perspectives, and leaving arrogance to the weak, because, while it is our own strength, that strength will be clearly demonstrated by its effects."
The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Rogelia Arzola Santillán, Council President of the Social Welfare Commission of the 25th Tijuana City Council; Arturo Aguirre González, Council President of the Planning, Urbanism, Metropolitan Development, Public Works and Services Commission; Christian Ponce Hernández, of the Municipal Youth Institute; and Ms. Mónica Hernández Frayre, coordinator of the Law Degree Program at Ibero Tijuana.
