The coach of the Indonesian women's national football team, Joko Susilo, acknowledged the crushing 0-7 defeat to Thailand in the opening match of Group A of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup at Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong, Vietnam.
"First, congratulations to the Thai team. They deserved to win. But we are very disappointed with this 7-0 defeat. It shouldn't have come to that if the players had been more calm," Joko said in a post-match press conference, as quoted in an audio statement received on Wednesday.
He added that, in general, the team should have performed better even though they were facing a strong opponent like Thailand.
