Ensenada, October 28. Residents of the Punta Colonet area demanded information from the federal and state governments about the alleged construction of a hydrogen storage plant at a site adjacent to the offshore megaport announced for that coastal municipal district.
Jesús Lara, spokesperson for the Punta Colonet Port Committee, indicated that, through inquiries made by the settlers themselves, they know of the existence of a project to install a hydrogen and ammonia terminal , along with a gas pipeline that would cross all of Baja California to reach the border with the United States.
"We have requested information from the State Government, the promoter of the Punta Colonet port project, and so far we have not received a specific response on this matter," he emphasized.
He pointed out that the members of the group are not opposed to the construction of either the deep-sea port or the aforementioned fuel terminal, but they do need to know what positive and negative effects both facilities would have.
