The Banten Provincial Government has officially established a partnership with professional football club Dewa United FC, which has now changed its name to Dewa United Banten FC, to make Banten International Stadium (BIS) in Serang City the home of the club.
Banten Governor Andra Soni emphasized that this collaboration is more than just sports, but rather part of a strategy to build a new regional economic ecosystem in the area around the stadium.
"This stadium wasn't built just for symbolism, but as a driver of economic growth. Just imagine, 17 home matches, plus the potential for friendlies and international matches. Hotels, restaurants, culinary delights, and MSMEs will all be involved," said Andra Soni in Serang City on Thursday.
On that occasion, the Banten Provincial Government and Dewa United Banten FC signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement at the Banten Provincial State Building.
Andra Soni emphasized that the strength of football lies in the collaboration of all parties, not just players and management, but also the spectators as the primary supporters. "Without spectators, football is like vegetables without salt. We need to revive this spirit, and we already have a name: Banten Warrior," he said.
