Tijuana, July 3. Sergio Fajardo Valderrama, former mayor of Medellín, Colombia, will present to the elected mayor of Tijuana, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the policies he implemented in that city that reduced the levels of violence. He will also offer a workshop on the scope and results of his government program, through which he promoted the construction of library parks in that district.
The mayor-elect announced in a press release that the former governor of Antioquia will come to the city next Monday—at the Tijuana native's express invitation—for a private meeting in which Burgueño "will learn firsthand about his experience implementing innovative policies that transformed that Colombian city."
Fajardo Valderrama will then lead a workshop on his program, "Medellín, the Most Educated."
The working meeting and experience-sharing program is part of the efforts Ismael Burgueño has been undertaking to design the government program and strategies he will implement starting October 1, when he assumes the municipal presidency of Tijuana, the bulletin stated.
