Google has denied the allegation that its artificial intelligence (AI)-based search feature is the cause of the decline in traffic to publisher sites.
The tech giant stated that the volume of organic clicks from their search engine to the website remained “relatively stable” year-over-year, and the average quality of clicks actually increased.
"This data contradicts third-party reports that inaccurately report dramatic traffic declines, often based on flawed methodology, isolated cases, or traffic changes that occurred before AI features were launched in Search," said Google Vice President and Head of Search Liz Reid, as quoted by Tech Crunch.
