The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially launched the Indonesia Football Esports Championship (IFEC) featuring eFootball as a national selection pathway for the national e-sports team that will compete in the 2025 FIFAe World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Managing Director of PT Garuda Sepakbola Indonesia (GSI), Marsal Irwan Masita, explained that the goal of this competition is to provide an opportunity for everyone to represent Indonesia in the efootball event.
"Today, PSSI is collaborating with the game's owner, Konami. So there are special prizes. We from PSSI, GSI, this is a big momentum. We will hold this IFEC every year. The goal is to find talent for the Garuda national team so they can play in the FIFAe World Cup," Marsal said while giving a speech at the launch at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.The launch of IFEC is the result of a collaboration between PSSI and the Indonesia Football eLeague (IFeL), which presents an official digital soccer esports tournament in two categories: eFootball mobile and console.
The tournament is open to all levels of society, from community players, semi-professionals, to professionals with a proven track record of success.
