IHOP restaurant closes in Culiacán due to wave of violence

Culiacán, December 30. The IHOP restaurant chain announced this Monday the permanent closure of its branch in Culiacán, Sinaloa, due to the violence that has prevailed in the city since September due to the feud between Los Mayitos and Los Chapitos, both cells of the Sinaloa Cartel.

In a statement, the company said it "seeks to prioritize the safety of our team" and its customers.

“Over these years, we have had the privilege of being part of this wonderful community,” the company stated in its newsletter, concluding with the following: “We hope that circumstances improve and that we can meet again in the future. Thank you for your loyalty and support throughout this time.”

Faced with the wave of violence in the capital of Sinaloa, businesses and companies have opted to cease operations.
