Including Hamas, Palestinian factions from Cairo: We have responded to all proposals to halt the aggression on Gaza.

In a joint statement, the factions expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by Egypt and Qatar to support the Palestinian cause, end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza from hunger, and advance efforts to achieve Palestinian unity, in addition to their engagement in negotiations to halt the aggression.

The factions that signed the statement are: Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Democratic Reform Current in Fatah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command, the Palestinian National Initiative, and the Popular Resistance Committees.

The factions also called on Egypt to sponsor an emergency national meeting that includes all Palestinian forces, "with the aim of agreeing on a unified national strategy to confront the occupation's plans and achieve the Palestinian people's goals of freedom and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."

The factions stressed that the top priority at this stage "is an immediate and comprehensive cessation of aggression, lifting the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, and ensuring the immediate, safe, and unhindered entry of humanitarian and relief aid."

The joint statement affirmed the factions' full response to "initiatives and proposals for a solution that achieves our national requirements, including ending the aggression, withdrawing the occupation forces, and lifting the unjust siege."

The factions indicated that the meeting discussed efforts to halt the aggression "in light of the obstructive positions and conflicting reports being broadcast by the enemy regarding its positions on these efforts, the most recent of which was the unjustified withdrawal from the negotiations in Doha (last month) after indirect negotiations had nearly reached a serious agreement."

On July 24, Israel withdrew from indirect negotiations with Hamas in Doha, following Tel Aviv's intransigence regarding the withdrawal from Gaza, ending the genocide, Palestinian prisoners, and the mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid.

Hamas has repeatedly declared its willingness to release Israeli captives "in one batch" in exchange for an end to the war of extermination, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

Occupation of Gaza

The factions also warned of Israel's plans to reoccupy Gaza, stressing the need to confront these plans and make every effort to halt them immediately. This came after the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, approved on Wednesday the "central idea" of the plan to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip, including the attack on the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, which began on Tuesday.

It stressed that "confronting Zionist plans in the West Bank and Gaza requires building real and serious national unity." She stressed the need to develop urgent national plans to "confront this project, protect the Palestinian and Arab presence, and thwart colonial schemes."

"Greater Israel" plan

The factions stressed that "the so-called 'Greater Israel Vision,' affirmed by enemy Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is a Zionist expansionist project that threatens Arab national security and the rights of the Palestinian people. It targets Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon in particular, and requires concerted Arab efforts to thwart it and protect the nation."

On Tuesday evening, Netanyahu said in an interview with the Hebrew channel i24 that he is "very attached to the vision of Greater Israel," in response to a question about whether he feels he is "on a mission on behalf of the Jewish people."

"Greater Israel," according to Israeli claims, includes the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to Jordan, Lebanon, and parts of Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Torah and Land Institute promotes on its website that the borders of "historical Israel," according to its claims, extend from the Euphrates River to the Nile River.

Palestinian factions commended the international movement in support of the Palestinian people, calling on "Arabs and friends around the world, United Nations organizations, and human rights institutions to shoulder their historical and legal responsibilities toward our Palestinian people, and to exert serious pressure on the occupation to immediately halt its crimes and hold it accountable for its ongoing violations."

Israel, with US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The genocide left 61,722 Palestinian martyrs and 154,525 wounded, most of them children and women. More than 9,000 people were missing, hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine killed 239 people, including 106 children.
