Mental health initiatives for BC students are moving forward.

Mexicali, May 28. The Education, Culture, Science, and Technology Committee approved in a regular virtual session the bills that will become three opinions.

Regarding the project that gave rise to this committee's Opinion No. 34, it was approved by a majority vote and refers to an initiative to reform the General Education Law to promote programs that foster mental health and emotional development in students at the elementary and high school levels.

The project that gives rise to Opinion No. 35 was also approved, which contains the initiative to reform the Law for the Promotion of Scientific, Technological Knowledge and Innovation for the Development of the State, to strengthen the legal framework in favor of older adults .

The bill that gives rise to Opinion No. 36 of the initiative to reform an article of the State Mental Health Law, with the aim of conducting mental health screenings in schools, was then approved
