Minister of Youth and Sports: U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship a momentum for revival





Youth and Sports Minister Ario Bimo Ariotedjo said the 2025 U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship, which will be held from August 7-17 in Surabaya, will be a momentum for the revival of national volleyball.

"This championship is the first step to reviving our volleyball sport in the eyes of the world," said the Minister of Youth and Sports at the opening of the 2025 U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship at the Jawa Pos Arena, Surabaya, as quoted from the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports website in Jakarta, Thursday.

The man, familiarly known as Dito Ariotedjo, wants the Indonesian national volleyball team, as the host, to perform at their best so they can achieve success. Ultimately, the Indonesian women's volleyball team's ranking in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) will improve.

The Minister of Youth and Sports stated that volleyball is a highly popular sport. Therefore, he believes the championship will be a step towards increasing public interest in volleyball.
