Paris Olympics | Shi-Pei Ho Wins Bronze in the 200m Freestyle: "Hong Kong, despite its small size, can still cultivate outstanding athletes

Hong Kong's "swimming queen" Ho Sze-Pei competed in the women's 200m freestyle final on Monday (29th) French time, attracting much attention, but unfortunately she failed to win the gold medal as she wished.

Hong Kong's two strongest competitors, the "Australian Twins" Mollie O'Callaghan and Ariarne Titmus, were in top form, placing first and second respectively as heavy favorites. Ho Shi-pei ultimately won the bronze medal with a time of 1:54.55.

Covering the event live, Ho Shi-pei, in an English interview, expressed her commitment to giving her all and expressed her gratitude for the support of her family, friends, and Hong Kong people. She expressed her joy for the Hong Kong team's outstanding performance at the Olympics and expressed her confidence that "this is just the beginning." She believes Hong Kong should maintain this positive momentum and demonstrate to the outside world that "even though Hong Kong is a small city, we can produce really good athletes."

Although Ho Shi-pei's result this time was slightly lower than the 1 minute 53.92 seconds she swam when she won the silver medal at the last Tokyo Olympics, she still made history in Hong Kong and became the first athlete in history to win three Olympic medals.

After finishing the race, Ho Shi-pei will compete in the 100m freestyle on Tuesday (30th), becoming another medal hope for the Hong Kong team. Ho Shi-pei won the silver medal in the 100m freestyle at the last Tokyo Olympics with a time of 52.27 seconds, breaking her own Asian record at the time and recording the sixth fastest time in history.
