The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch (TEPJF) unanimously declared today the validity of the presidential election and the victory of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who will be the first female president of the Republic.
"The opinion proposes to declare that candidate Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo obtained the majority of the votes, that the election is valid because it complies with constitutional principles, and that she is eligible to serve as President of the United Mexican States, meeting the requirements established in Articles 82 and 83 of the Political Constitution," states the document approved by the six judges that made up the Plenary for this process: Mónica Soto Fregoso (president), Felipe Fuentes Barrera, Felipe de la Mara Pizaña, Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón, Janine Otalora Malassis, and Claudia Valle Aguilasocho.
Having also met the constitutional eligibility requirements, Sheinbaum Pardo is the president-elect as of noon this Wednesday and will receive her certificate of inauguration in a solemn session convened for this Thursday, August 15.
For the qualifying session—attended by national and international election observers—the validity of the district counts was ratified, giving a large majority to the candidate of the "Let's Keep Finance History" coalition, made up of the Morena, Labor, and Green Ecologist parties.
