Aang Sunadji, Chairman of the Indonesian Woodball Association (PB IWbA), said the 13th Asian Cup Woodball Championship in 2025 is an important momentum to encourage the inclusion of woodball in the Asian Games.
"The Asian Cup in Indonesia is a great opportunity. If we want to take woodball to the next level, including qualifying for the Asian Games, this event can be a benchmark," said Aang during the opening ceremony at the JSI Resort in Megamendung, Bogor Regency, on Tuesday evening.
The event, which took place from August 19–22, featured 213 athletes from nine countries. According to Aang, Indonesia's success in hosting the event was proof that woodball can meet international competition standards.
In addition, the appreciation from the participants also strengthened Indonesia's position in its efforts to push woodball onto the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) agenda.
