The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the return of money by the Regent of Pati, Central Java, Sudewo (SDW), does not erase his criminal element in the alleged bribery case regarding the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.
"Returning state financial losses does not erase the criminal penalty," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (14/8).
Asep made this statement referring to Article 4 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption which has been amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.
Article 4 of the law states: " Returning losses to state finances or the state economy does not eliminate the criminal penalties for perpetrators of criminal acts as referred to in Article 2 and Article 3. "
Therefore, Asep asked all parties to wait, especially regarding the summons of the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives by the Corruption Eradication Committee.
"So, when will you be called? Just wait," he said.
