Mexicali, March 3. The Mexicali municipal police officers who failed to arrest the alleged rapist of a 15-year-old girl had grounds to prosecute him, as he was in public when they responded to the victim's report, stated prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez, revealing that they are reviewing the investigation file surrounding the police action, according to the victim's statement.
He stated that the internal control bodies (Sindicatura) are the ones that will determine the actions of the municipal agents, although he did not rule out analyzing the issue of a criminal nature. Even the mother of Hanna Renata - the abused minor -, Lilian "N", got Saúl "N", the accused, out of the vehicle when he tried to flee, and that is how the police found him when they arrived.
The incident occurred on February 21st, the first day that Hanna Renata worked at the taco shop owned by Saúl, but, according to her accusation, the man raped and beat her and even recorded her.
She took advantage of his inattention to call for help from Lilian "N", who arrived outside the business when the young woman was with the alleged attacker and a man who helped her so that he wouldn't put her in the car.
