A statement issued by the Government Media Office stated that most of these trucks belong to UN and international organizations, but that the occupation is deliberately preventing their entry, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis facing more than 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip.
The statement affirmed the government's condemnation of the continued siege, the starvation of civilians, and the withholding of aid, considering this a war crime that violates all international norms and conventions.
The government held the Israeli occupation and the countries "involved through silence or complicity" fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian disaster and its consequences, due to the population being deprived of food, medicine, and fuel.
The government called for the immediate, safe, and sustained entry of all detained trucks, the opening of crossings without restrictions or conditions, and the guarantee of the flow of aid to save civilian lives before it is too late.
In a related development, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that the death toll from Israel's starvation policy had risen to 175 Palestinians, including 93 children, since the war began on October 7, 2023.
For his part, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called for the continued and increased flow of health aid to the Gaza Strip, which is subject to a stifling Israeli blockade.
In a post on the X platform on Sunday, Ghebreyesus explained that the lives of Gaza's residents directly depend on the entry of aid into the Strip.
He noted that since August 1, the organization has delivered 24 trucks loaded with medical supplies, including essential medicines and healthcare equipment, which will be distributed to health centers and hospitals in Gaza.
Since beginning its genocide on October 7, 2023, Israel has been simultaneously committing a starvation crime against the Palestinians of Gaza. On March 2, it tightened its measures by closing all crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, causing famine to spread and reaching "catastrophic" levels.
The US-backed genocide left more than 209,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that claimed the lives of many.
