The occupation forces stormed Al Jazeera's headquarters in Ramallah and extended its closure for 60 days.

According to sources, the occupation forces posted a military order at the entrance to the headquarters extending the closure of the office for 60 days, continuing the measures targeting the network's operations in the Palestinian territories.

The Israeli occupation army closed Al Jazeera's Ramallah office about a year ago, after raiding the headquarters and confiscating equipment and journalistic archives. The army also served employees with an immediate closure order, prohibiting them from entering the office or using their vehicles.

In a previous statement, Al Jazeera described the move as a dangerous escalation aimed at silencing free media coverage, asserting that Israel's actions are part of an attempt to obscure the violations taking place in the Palestinian territories, particularly during the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The network also affirmed its determination to continue covering events on the ground with professionalism and independence, despite the increasing pressures facing media outlets operating in the occupied territories.

It's worth noting that in May 2024, Israeli authorities approved a decision to close Al Jazeera's offices inside Israel, under the so-called "Al Jazeera Law," after the government approved a proposal submitted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi. The decision took immediate effect.
