The website explained that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar met with his US counterpart, Mike Rubio, in the US capital, where the two sides held a meeting with the participation of their working teams before moving on to a closed bilateral meeting, without making statements to reporters.
Meanwhile, US sources reported an expanded meeting chaired by Trump, attended by his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to discuss plans for rebuilding Gaza and the distribution of responsibility among participating countries and organizations.
Kushner previously stated in an interview with Harvard University's Middle East Initiative program, "The Gaza coast has tremendous potential for significant economic value."
In a related context, the Hebrew newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported, citing American sources, that the expanded meeting will witness the presentation of detailed plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, "including defining the areas of responsibility for the organizations and countries participating in the project." The newspaper added, "The meeting comes in the wake of discussions in the foreign affairs committees in Congress, where representatives of the organizations presented their reconstruction plans."
She continued: "During the discussions, Trump agreed to move forward with implementing some plans soon, including education, food provision, and temporary housing," claiming that "the program will be implemented even if fighting continues in the southern Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Israel and is experiencing relative calm."
On Wednesday, Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee claimed that the displacement of approximately one million Palestinians from Gaza City was "inevitable," as part of a plan to occupy the city, which is home to half of the Strip's population.
Adraee said in a post on the X platform: "I would like to emphasize that in the southern Gaza Strip there are vast empty areas, as is the case in the central and Mawasi camps. These areas are devoid of tents." He added: "The evacuation of Gaza City is inevitable, and every family moving to the south will receive the most abundant humanitarian aid currently being worked on."

Palestinian reports, as well as UN and international organizations, confirm the lack of safe spaces for displacement southward, given Israel's control over approximately 77% of the Gaza Strip. This makes any new displacement nearly impossible and threatens the lives of displaced persons.
Israel Hayom reported that international organizations will be integrated into these locations with international funding to provide direct assistance to the population. It added that estimates presented during the discussion indicated a slim chance of reaching a ceasefire before the army advances into the remaining neighborhoods of Gaza City. However, President Trump expressed his hope of avoiding a full occupation of the Strip and reaching an agreement before that.
She noted that Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, responsible for communicating with the US administration, is also in Washington, where he held meetings with US officials and presented the Israeli position rejecting any role for Hamas or the Palestinian Authority in governing Gaza, while Tel Aviv maintains security control over the Strip.
These moves come as Israel has so far rejected the mediators' proposal for a prisoner exchange and ceasefire, despite Hamas's acceptance. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to push for the occupation of Gaza City, amid warnings from opposition figures and former officials that the operation could endanger the lives of Israeli prisoners.
