Attention continues to be paid to reports of assistance after rains in New Mexico.

Monterrey, June 21. Civil Protection in Nuevo León reported that during and after the rains brought by Tropical Storm Alberto in the state, 1,987 assistance requests were received.

He reiterated that so far there have been four deaths (three minors and one adult), and that one person was swept away by the current in the municipality of Cadereyta.

The agency headed by Erick Cavazos Cavazos reported that it evacuated 120 people, including adults and children, in different rescues, using rapid vehicles and helicopters. It is also continuing to evaluate rescue situations in the interior of La Huasteca and in the municipality of Montemorelos.

On Morones Prieto and Constitución avenues, traffic is closed in various sections and on various roads due to the collapse of the riverbank at the Constitución/Venustiano Carranza; Constitución/San Rafael; Constitución/Félix U. Gómez; and Constitución/Colón intersections. On Morones Prieto Avenue, the intersections of this avenue with Revolución Avenue, Garza Sada Avenue, and San Rafael Avenue were closed.

Regarding the status of the roads leading to the metropolis, Highway 58, the Linares-San Roberto section, is under surveillance at the Galeana and Linares entrances to prevent vehicle access and damage from landslides.

On the Saltillo-Monterrey Highway, coordination is underway with the highway manager, who has reported that they have already begun clearing and removing debris. They estimate that the work will be completed by Saturday and the highway will be able to resume operations.

On the Saltillo-Monterrey Freeway, Civil Protection, Roadside Assistance, and the National Guard carried out work that allowed traffic to resume in both directions.

The closure of the "Huachil" toll booth at kilometer 142 of Highway 57, Matehuala-Puerto Mexico City, in Galeana, Nuevo León, ordered the San Rafael substation to redirect transporters to the Saltillo-Monterrey Free Highway as an alternate route, in order to facilitate traffic flow.
