Autocontrol" launched, a campaign aimed at young people to prevent road accidents

Mexicali, December 20. In the midst of the December holidays, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda reiterated her call to all citizens to reflect on the importance of road safety and self-control while driving.

With the launch of the "Self-Control" campaign, promoted by the Baja California Youth Institute (Juventud BC), the goal is to promote a responsible road culture and prevent vehicle accidents by raising awareness among the general population, especially young people.

“Self-Control” addresses the main causes of serious accidents, such as excessive speed, cell phone use or distractions while driving, and drunk driving .

The state leader emphasized that road safety is a collective commitment, requiring the active participation of everyone. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that decisions made while driving have a direct impact in the short and long term.

This campaign is being carried out on both digital platforms and in recreational and social spaces, with a clear and accessible message for young people.

Key recommendations promoted by the campaign include: avoiding cell phone use while driving; not listening to loud music; always wearing a seatbelt; not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol; and considering alternatives such as using public transportation, digital platforms, or assigning a designated driver.
